On the spoons, get set, go!
This time, together with the children of the Arche, we went to the KinderKüche, which is located right around the corner from us in beautiful Bornheim. There we met with the children for two days and baked and cooked many delicious things.
But before the baking started, the chef’s hats were painted with love and then finally the aprons were put on.
The children, all between 8 and 12 years old, were explained the recipes and ingredients by the KinderKüche team – “How do I hold the knife correctly?” to “Why is yeast actually a mushroom and why do I need it for baking?” it’s all there.
And then it was finally time to get set and go. Raspberry buns, pancakes, savory muffins and hand-cut sweet potato fries with homemade ketchup. In small groups, the delicacies were prepared bit by bit, energetically tackled and dough was diligently rolled out.
But not only the children had fun. Our team was also allowed to be there and diligently support the little master chefs.
Our colleague Chopi captured the baking classes with her camera and of course it didn’t take long for the first kids to get excited about it too.
