Westpak‘s HeatWave Liner packaging is a liner sheet made from recyclable, FSC-certified kraft paper, designed to fit standard pizza boxes. Its unique dome pattern lifts the pizza, reducing contact with the liner and creating an aerated layer that acts as a thermal barrier. Their initial tests show significant heat retention, with 12-inch pizzas staying 27% hotter and 10-inch pizzas 22% hotter after 15 minutes. HeatWave Liners are also effective grease barriers, helping keep boxes clean and more suitable for recycling. They’re fully recyclable, industrially compostable, and require no gluing, folding, or securing. Currently, HeatWave is being trialed by several pizzeria chains.
