Fully automatic mini market
People’s changing consumption, lifestyle and working habits are putting stationary retail under massive pressure. In the course of digitization, entirely new concepts are to make grocery shopping easier and more flexible for customers, especially for staple foods. German grocer Tegut designed the “Teo” concept for this purpose, a mini-market equipped with around 50 square meters of sales space and around 1,000 items, where customers can serve themselves and make cashless payments via app around the clock. Green roofs, a book exchange and a bicycle workshop are also intended to set new standards in terms of the urban supermarket of the future.
